To work in flip together with your colleagues, invite them to your space by email. Invited users get an email with a link, join the space and land in the selected teams right away. You can also invite people who don't have a flip account yet
Who can invite users
- On the Mini plan — any member of the space
- On the Business and Enterprise plans — the owner and admins
- On the Individual plan, you can't invite anyone: there is no “Invite” button

How to invite users
- Click “Invite” in the upper right corner
- Enter an email address. To invite several people, separate the addresses with a comma or space — each address becomes a separate tag. You can also paste a whole list of addresses
- In the “Add members to a team” block, select the teams the invited users will join. The “Select all” checkbox selects all available teams
- Click “Invite” — the “Invitation sent” message appears

The “Invite” button in the window becomes active when at least one address is entered, all addresses are valid and at least one team is selected: every invited user must join at least one team. An invalid address is highlighted in red — double-click it to fix it or remove it with the cross
You can only select the teams you are a member of — the space owner can select any team. Teams over the limit of the current plan are not available. To close the window without sending invitations, click “Cancel”
How many seats are left in the space
The top of the invitation window shows how many seats are already taken:
- On the Mini plan — how many of the 15 members are already in the space
- On the Business and Enterprise plans — how many of the purchased licenses are used. The owner and admins see this counter
When only one free seat is left, the space owner sees the “Upgrade plan” link next to the counter on the Mini plan or the “Add licenses” link on the Business plan. If there are no seats left at all, a limit message opens instead of the invitation window: on the Mini plan it suggests switching to the Business or Enterprise plan, and on paid plans it says “You have reached the license limit”. Only the space owner can upgrade the plan and add licenses, learn more in the article on plan management
A seat and a license are taken when the invited user joins the space, not when the invitation is sent. If no free seats are left by then, the user won't be able to join
What the invited user gets
- An invitation email: it says who invites them and to which space, and has a button to go to flip
- If they don't have a flip account yet, the link in the email opens the sign-up — the steps are described in the article on signing up
- If they already have an account, they become a member of the space and join the selected teams after following the link
The link in the email is personal: it adds to the space the account with the email address the invitation was sent to. Until the invited user follows the link, they are not in the list of space members. If the link is no longer valid, flip suggests contacting the space owner for a new invitation — in this case, send the invitation again
How to invite a user from a flip
You can also invite colleagues from the “Share” window on a flip — in the “Invite members” field. Invited users become space members and join the team of this flip, and the link in the email opens the flip itself. Learn more in the article How to share a flip and set up access
There is no shared invitation link to a space: people become space members through an email invitation or, if SSO is set up with the “Automatically” join method, by signing in via SSO. Those who open a flip via a public link don't become space members
Invitations when SSO is on
If the “Automatically” join method is selected in the “SSO settings” section, everyone who signs in via SSO is added to the space automatically. In this case, the “Invite” button opens the “Invitations are restricted” message. An admin can go from it to “SSO settings” and select the “By invitation” method, other members need to contact the space owner. Learn more in the article SSO and domain management
